Why Plumbing Emergencies Are Different in Southwest Florida
When a pipe fails in Naples or Bonita Springs, the climate makes the damage worse, faster. Humidity accelerates mold growth in wet drywall and cabinet bases within 24 to 48 hours. Tile floors hide water under the slab. Hurricane season puts every property at risk, and storm surge pushes saltwater into supply lines and water heaters that were never built for it. A small leak in Naples is not the same as a small leak in Ohio. The clock runs faster here, and the response has to match.
Hurricane season.
Hurricane season runs June through November, and plumbing failures spike before and after major storms. We are ready for it and prioritize emergency calls during named storm events.
Tile and slab construction.
Tile and slab construction is standard in Southwest Florida, which means leaks often run under the floor before they show up. A mop-up is not enough. We bring leak detection equipment to every emergency call where the source is not obvious.
Saltwater air.
Saltwater air corrodes fixtures and supply lines faster on coastal properties. Marco Island and coastal Southwest Florida homes see corrosion-related emergency calls year-round, especially on shutoff valves and water heater fittings.
Vacation rentals and seasonal homes.
Vacation rentals and seasonal homes sit empty for weeks. A slow leak that goes undetected for a month is a different repair than one caught in 20 minutes. We prioritize Marco Island, Naples, and Estero rentals with active guest stays.
Condo complexes.
Condo complexes share supply lines. A single unit failure can flood multiple floors. We coordinate with condo associations and have handled weekend emergencies for full condo complexes.
Emergency Plumbing FAQs
How fast can you respond to a plumbing emergency in Naples?
For active emergencies inside our service area (Collier and Lee County), we dispatch as fast as the closest available tech can reach the address. During business hours that is often within one to two hours. After hours, a real person answers the phone immediately and we dispatch a tech for true emergencies the same night.
What counts as a plumbing emergency?
Active leaks, burst pipes, sewage backups, no hot water before guests arrive, suspected gas leaks, water heater failures with active water damage, and any situation where the water has to stay off until we arrive. If you are not sure whether it qualifies, call and ask. Our office can triage in under a minute.
Do you charge extra for nights, weekends, or holidays?
We quote every emergency job up front before work begins. You see the price and approve it before we open anything. There are no surprise after-hours charges added to the bill at the end.
What should I do before you arrive for a leak emergency?
If you can safely reach the main water shutoff to the house, turn it off. If the leak is at a specific fixture, the local shutoff under the sink or behind the toilet is enough. For water heater leaks, shut the cold supply line into the unit and, for gas heaters, turn the gas off if you can do so safely. Then call us. We can walk you through this on the phone.
Do you handle gas leak emergencies?
Yes, our team is fully licensed for natural gas and LP propane. If you smell gas, leave the house first, call your gas utility from outside, then call us. We can isolate, repair, and pressure-test the line on the same visit in most cases.
Can you handle a condo or commercial emergency?
Yes. We have responded to full condo complex water restorations on weekends and handle commercial plumbing emergencies for restaurants and offices across Collier and Lee County. Call (239) 699-3144 and tell the dispatcher it is a multi-unit or commercial situation so we send the right crew.
As Naples's trusted plumbing contractor, A-1 Plumbing & Gas handles every residential and commercial plumbing need in Collier County's largest city. Naples's mix of luxury condos, single-family homes, and waterfront estates demands a plumber who knows Florida construction — slab foundations, aging copper lines, high mineral content water, and coastal salt air that accelerates fixture corrosion. We offer same-day service and 24/7 emergency response throughout Naples.
Bonita Springs sits at the border of Collier and Lee County, and A-1 Plumbing & Gas serves the entire area — from the Imperial River corridor to Bonita Beach Road and the gated communities of Pelican Landing and Coconut Point. Our plumbers handle the same Florida-specific challenges found throughout Southwest Florida: hard water, aging pipes, slab leaks, and gas line work for outdoor kitchens and pool heaters.
Marco Island's waterfront properties face accelerated pipe and fixture corrosion from salt air, and vacation rental turnover puts extra demand on every plumbing system on the island. A-1 Plumbing & Gas serves Marco Island homeowners, condo associations, and vacation rental managers with emergency service, leak detection, water heater replacement, and preventive plumbing maintenance — all by licensed Florida plumbers.
Estero's rapidly growing residential communities, from Miromar Lakes to Bella Terra and Wildcat Run, rely on A-1 Plumbing & Gas for licensed plumbing and gas work. We install natural gas and LP propane lines for outdoor kitchens and generators in newer Estero construction, and we service the aging plumbing in older communities with camera inspections, repiping, and leak detection.
Fort Myers is Lee County's largest city, and A-1 Plumbing & Gas serves the full market — from historic downtown homes with aging galvanized plumbing to the newer developments in south Fort Myers and Gateway. Our licensed techs handle drain cleaning, water heater replacement, sewer line repair, gas line installation for generators and outdoor kitchens, and 24/7 emergency plumbing throughout Fort Myers.
Golden Gate Estates and the Golden Gate City corridor have a higher rate of well water systems and LP propane use than coastal Naples — two specialties where A-1 Plumbing & Gas has deep experience. We install and service well water filtration systems, propane gas lines, water softeners, and all standard residential plumbing for Golden Gate homeowners.
North Naples encompasses some of Collier County's most established residential communities, including Pelican Bay, Tiburon, Mediterra, and Quail Creek. A-1 Plumbing & Gas serves North Naples with high-end fixture installation, whole-home repiping, gas line work for outdoor kitchens, water filtration systems, and emergency plumbing — all with the licensed, certified technicians these communities expect.

What Customers Say
A-1 Plumbing came to our rescue when we thought we had exhausted all chances of restoring water to our condo complex over a weekend when all other plumbing companies said it couldn't be done! Unbelievable dedication and clearly knowledgeable about plumbing! And time of day did not matter — they showed up! Couldn't ask for better service and we will be hiring them again!
— Barbara von Mehren, Naples, FL

— Mischael Bross, Naples, FL
My neighbor in Tall Oaks recommended A-1 Plumbing, I had some serious leaking issues and needed a repipe. From speaking with the owner (Jordan), his secretary Yocelyn and especially the fine work that Thomas, Caden, Walter and Ismael all performed was exemplary. They were all professional, punctual and very respectful. These gentlemen should be considered an asset to the business! I am very thankful for the work done and highly recommend this company!
